Fried Bee Hoon (Vermicelli) Recipe

To celebrate Chinese New Year, I made some Fried Bee Hoon or Vermicelli for the family. This is the saucier version of my Stir-Fry Vermicelli recipe. Enjoy!

Fried Bee Hoon (Vermicelli) Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz rice vermicelli
  • 3 tbsps coconut oil
  • 1 lb ground grass-fed beef
  • 1 anchovy
  • 3 cups baby lettuce

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsps five spice powder
  • 2 tbsps dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp ground white pepper

Steps:

  1. Soak vermicelli in warm water. Drain after 30 minutes.
  2. Heat coconut oil in pan over medium high heat, then add ground beef and anchovy.
  3. After beef is browned, add sauce and vermicelli.
  4. Stir-fry until vermicelli is well coated in sauce.
  5. Add baby lettuce and combine well.
  6. Serve immediately.
